About Jackie
Jackie Stewart Gravois is a Senior Trial Attorney at Michael & Associates Criminal Defense Attorneys and a highly experienced criminal defense lawyer with more than 19 years of courtroom experience. She is Board Certified in Juvenile Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, a distinction held by a select group of attorneys who have demonstrated substantial experience, knowledge, and proficiency in representing children and families in juvenile proceedings.
Throughout her career, Jackie has served in multiple roles within the criminal justice system, giving her a comprehensive understanding of how cases are investigated, prosecuted, and defended. Her experience includes serving as an Assistant District Attorney, Assistant Public Defender, and Substitute Juvenile Law Master, where she presided over juvenile delinquency proceedings and other matters involving youth accused of criminal offenses. This unique combination of prosecutorial, defense, and judicial experience allows her to evaluate cases from multiple perspectives and develop strategic, effective defenses for her clients.
Jackie has represented hundreds of individuals in criminal and juvenile matters ranging from Class C misdemeanors to first-degree felonies. Her practice includes defending clients accused of DWI, drug crimes, assault offenses, theft offenses, weapons charges, probation violations, and other serious misdemeanor and felony allegations. She is particularly experienced in juvenile defense, representing minors accused of offenses that, in many cases, mirror the same charges prosecuted in adult criminal courts.
In addition to her traditional criminal defense work, Jackie has served as defense counsel for participants in specialty Drug Court programs, helping clients navigate treatment-focused alternatives to incarceration while addressing the underlying issues contributing to criminal charges. This experience provides her with valuable insights into diversionary programs, rehabilitation-focused sentencing options, and alternatives available to qualifying clients.
As a Board-Certified Juvenile Law attorney, Jackie understands the unique legal, educational, and personal consequences that can arise when a child is accused of a criminal offense. She works closely with families to protect their child's future while advocating for outcomes that minimize long-term consequences whenever possible.
