About Joshua
Josh Griffin is a Texas criminal defense attorney and an Austin-based Senior Trial Attorney at Michael & Associates Criminal Defense Attorneys. A former felony prosecutor, Josh spent eight years handling serious criminal cases, giving him firsthand insight into how prosecutors investigate crimes, evaluate evidence, negotiate plea agreements, and present cases to juries.
Josh earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from Sam Houston State University before receiving his Juris Doctor from the University of North Texas College of Law.
During his prosecutorial career, Josh handled a wide range of felony cases, including murder, crimes against children, sexual assault, family violence, DWI, theft, and other serious violent and property offenses. He secured more than 30 felony jury convictions and developed substantial courtroom experience trying complex criminal cases. Today, he uses that experience to identify weaknesses in the government's evidence, anticipate prosecutorial strategies, and build effective defenses for clients facing misdemeanor and felony charges.
Josh understands that every criminal case carries significant personal consequences. Whether someone is accused of DWI, assault, theft, or another criminal offense, he believes every client deserves careful preparation, honest advice, and a defense strategy tailored to the unique facts of the case. His experience on both sides of the courtroom allows him to evaluate cases from multiple perspectives and pursue practical solutions, whether through negotiation or trial.
Outside the courtroom, Josh is a devoted husband and father of four. He has been married for more than 11 years and spends much of his free time coaching his children's baseball teams. An avid outdoorsman, he also enjoys hunting and fishing. Whether representing clients in court or coaching from the dugout, Josh brings the same commitment to preparation, discipline, and advocating for the people who depend on him.
