About Carson
Carson F. Joachim is a Senior Trial Attorney at Michael & Associates Criminal Defense Attorneys with more than two decades of courtroom and litigation experience. A former Harris County prosecutor, trial attorney, and legal advisor, Carson has spent his career helping people navigate difficult legal challenges and protecting their rights when the stakes are highest.
Carson earned his Juris Doctor from Baylor University School of Law in 2002 and began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney with the Harris County District Attorney's Office. During his time there, he prosecuted both misdemeanor and felony cases and ultimately served as Chief Prosecutor of the misdemeanor division. That experience gave him valuable insight into how criminal cases are investigated, charged, negotiated, and tried, knowledge he now uses to help defend individuals facing criminal accusations.
After leaving the District Attorney's Office, Carson built a successful litigation practice representing clients in criminal defense, employment disputes, administrative proceedings, civil litigation, real estate matters, and family law cases. His broad courtroom experience has given him a practical understanding of how legal disputes unfold and how effective advocacy can make a meaningful difference in a client's future.
In addition to his private practice experience, Carson served as General Counsel to the Harris County Deputies' Organization, representing law enforcement professionals and advising organizational leadership on employment matters, labor arbitrations, policy issues, and administrative proceedings. This unique experience provides additional insight into law enforcement procedures and the inner workings of the criminal justice system.
At Michael & Associates, Carson focuses on criminal defense, representing clients facing DWI charges, drug offenses, assault allegations, domestic violence accusations, theft crimes, weapons charges, probation violations, and other misdemeanor and felony criminal matters. He takes a practical, client-focused approach to every case, carefully evaluating the evidence, identifying opportunities for a strong defense, and helping clients understand their options at every stage of the process.
Known for his straightforward communication style and strong advocacy skills, Carson believes that effective representation starts with listening. He understands that criminal charges can create uncertainty, stress, and fear for both clients and their families. By building strong relationships with the people he represents, he helps clients navigate the legal process with confidence while working to achieve the best possible outcome.
Outside the courtroom, Carson remains active in the Houston community through his longtime service as a Director with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. He enjoys physical fitness, tennis, travel, reading, and spending time with his wife, Maegan, daughters Addison and Camryn, and stepdaughters Kayla and Ella.
