About Janie
Janie Martin is an accomplished criminal defense attorney with more than 18 years of experience representing clients in complex felony cases across Dallas County. In September 2025, she joined Michael & Associates as a Senior Trial Attorney, bringing her extensive courtroom experience and leadership skills to clients facing serious criminal charges throughout Texas.
Previously, Janie served as a Felony Trial Attorney Supervisor with the Dallas County Public Defender’s Office, where she led and mentored a team of attorneys while managing a heavy docket of high-stakes trials. A former prosecutor and Veterans Treatment Court Defense Counsel, she brings a balanced perspective to the courtroom and a deep commitment to justice for all, including veterans and underserved populations.
The Dallas County Commissioners Court has recognized Janie with a formal resolution for High Performance Leadership and Outstanding Performance. She also holds a High Performance Leadership Certification from NACo and the Professional Leadership Academy and is a 2025 “Who’s Who in America” recipient.
