About Rishabh

Rishabh Godha is a Senior Trial Attorney at Michael & Associates Criminal Defense Attorneys with more than a decade of criminal law experience. Throughout his career, he has represented individuals facing misdemeanor and felony criminal charges while also serving as a prosecutor and public defender. His experience on multiple sides of the criminal justice system provides valuable insight into how criminal cases are investigated, prosecuted, defended, and resolved.

Rishabh earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law, where he developed a strong interest in criminal law. While in law school, he completed an internship with the Harris County District Attorney's Office, an experience that solidified his commitment to criminal litigation. After graduation, he joined the Harris County District Attorney's Office as a prosecutor.

As an Assistant District Attorney in Harris County, Rishabh began his career handling misdemeanor prosecutions before being promoted to the felony division. In that role, he managed hundreds of felony cases and conducted numerous jury trials. His experience prosecuting criminal cases provided firsthand knowledge of how law enforcement investigations are conducted, how evidence is evaluated, and how prosecutors develop trial strategies.

After leaving the District Attorney's Office, Rishabh founded his own criminal defense practice, where he represented hundreds of clients facing a wide range of misdemeanor and felony charges. He later joined a public defender's office, representing individuals charged with criminal offenses in Texas border counties as part of Operation Lone Star. In addition to maintaining an active caseload, he supervised and trained attorneys and support staff, further expanding his leadership and courtroom experience.

Throughout his career, Mr. Godha has handled cases involving DWI offenses, drug crimes, theft offenses, assault allegations, weapons charges, probation violations, and other serious criminal matters. His background as a prosecutor, criminal defense attorney, and public defender allows him to evaluate cases from multiple perspectives and develop strategic defenses tailored to each client's circumstances.

Rishabh joined Michael & Associates in 2026 and loves being part of a strong team of attorneys and legal professionals dedicated to advocating for clients and holding the government accountable. 

He unwinds by watching college football and baseball. He lives in Houston with his family.
