Organized Retail Theft
Location
Tarrant County, 371st District Court
Allegations
Following a warrant for organized retail theft out of Tarrant County, the client was jailed in another county while custody and bond were sorted. We clarified jurisdiction, coordinated bond so the case could be heard in the proper court, and filed early motions to get the matter moving. With no prior criminal history and other mitigation documented, we pressed the prosecution to consider a non conviction outcome. The state ultimately offered deferred adjudication, which the court accepted.

Allegations
Police responded to a dispute at an apartment complex and contacted the client near a parked vehicle that was still running. No officer observed any driving. The client declined field sobriety tests after reporting she had just been struck, and a blood sample was taken later at a clinic. We secured the bodycam, 911 audio, and warrant packet, emphasizing the absence of driving on video, the time gap before the blood draw, and issues with how testing was conducted. After targeted motions and firm negotiations, the prosecution agreed to deferred adjudication.

Allegations
During a late-night traffic stop for alleged lane drift, the client was arrested for DWI after roadside tests and a blood warrant. We obtained dash and body cam video and the lab files. The blood alcohol was well below the legal limit, though toxicology noted THC and alprazolam metabolites. We dissected the stop, the field test instructions, and the timing of the draw, and lined up expert input to contest any drug-impairment theory. When the prosecutor refused a reduction, we leveraged the low BAC to negotiate deferred adjudication, avoiding a conviction on the client’s record.

Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon
Location
Tarrant County, CCC1
Allegations
Officers encountered the client at a roadway intersection and began an impairment investigation. During that contact, they found two handguns in the center console. The client held a license to carry, and one firearm belonged to a family member. We obtained the reports and bodycam, documented the consensual search, and highlighted the license status and ownership history while disputing the UCW theory. After negotiations, the State agreed to deferred adjudication. We also arranged for the firearms to be released to a lawful owner during probation.

Allegations
Our client was detained during a roadside investigation where officers searched the vehicle and found two handguns in the center console. One belonged to a family member and the client held a handgun license, but it was not presented at the scene. We pulled the reports and bodycam, examined how the firearms were discovered, and challenged whether the elements of unlawful carry were actually met. We also emphasized the client’s cooperation and lack of record. After sustained negotiations, the case resolved with deferred adjudication, keeping a conviction off the record.

Allegations
Officers found the client stopped at an intersection with the engine running and began a DWI investigation. He performed field sobriety tests in rain and poor conditions, then consented to a hospital blood draw. We obtained the reports and body cam, scrutinized how the tests were administered, and highlighted the adverse testing environment. Leveraging those issues along with his cooperation and clean background, we negotiated deferred adjudication with nonreporting terms and no ignition interlock. Completing probation will keep a conviction off his record.

Allegations
Our client was found asleep in a fast-food drive-thru with the engine running. Officers noted slurred speech and slow responses, and a blood sample later reported about 0.21 BAC. We obtained and reviewed the body-cam, dash-cam, and lab documentation, then discussed realistic paths forward. Leveraging early compliance, including installing an ignition interlock and starting the required classes, we pressed negotiations. The prosecution agreed to waive the enhancement and reduce it to a first-offense level, resolved with straight probation.

During a traffic stop for a registration issue, an officer asked our client, a passenger, for ID, then reached into her open purse, pulled out suspected marijuana, and kept searching until he found her lawfully owned handgun. Prosecutors filed UCW based on the alleged drug possession. We secured the bodycam and reports, dissected the timeline, and challenged the legal basis for reaching into and searching the purse and the required link between the firearm and contraband. After we pressed those defects with the DA, the UCW was dismissed.

Possession of a Controlled Substance (Third-Degree Felony)
Location
Tarrant County, D372
Allegations
After a traffic stop for a minor equipment issue, officers asked for ID, then reached into an open bag, pulling marijuana and later alleging a bag of meth. We obtained the reports, bodycam and lab paperwork, and challenged the legal basis for the intrusion and how the evidence was documented. We flagged conflicts between the video and the affidavit and scrutinized chain of custody. We also presented mitigation with clean tests and treatment. The state reduced the charge, avoiding a felony conviction.

DWI - Second Offense

Allegations
Following a late-night traffic stop the client barely recalled, officers had them perform roadside tests and took a hospital blood sample after reading the statutory warning. We moved fast to request the license hearing and lock in the officer's account of why the vehicle was stopped. Our team then combed through the reports and blood-draw paperwork for procedural problems and inconsistencies. We laid those issues out for the prosecutor, pressed our position, and secured a reduction to a lesser DWI with straight probation.

Allegations
After a traffic stop for a license plate light, officers questioned our client about drugs and requested a search. He acknowledged recently being around marijuana, then consented, and two THC vape cartridges were found. We obtained the police report and bodycam, scrutinized the basis for the search and the officer's assumption about total weight, and pressed for the lab-confirmed amount. With no criminal history and strong mitigation, we opened negotiations early and made clear we were prepared to litigate suppression issues. The state dismissed the case.

Assault
Location

Allegations
An encounter at a medical facility escalated into a confrontation with staff, leading to our client's arrest for assault. We obtained the facility's incident reports and witness statements and closely compared them to the arrest narrative to assess the evidence. At the same time, we documented the client's participation in mental health treatment. We used that context in negotiations and pressed for a non-punitive resolution. The prosecutor agreed and dismissed the case.
