Allegations

A household dispute escalated when the client confronted a family member who had gone into the client's room. During a brief struggle with pushing and shoving, the client tossed a pair of scissors onto a bed and they bounced, causing a minor cut to the other person's ankle. Responding officers saw the cut and arrested the client after several relatives blamed them. We documented the sequence showing the accidental mechanism of the cut and the mutual nature of the scuffle, and emphasized the client's clean record. We pressed these points with the prosecutor until the state dismissed the case.
