Charge
Providing False Information and Forgery of Vehicle Registration
Location
Travis County, 460TH, DISTRICT COURT
Allegations
Investigators executed a search warrant at the client's business during a probe into allegedly fraudulent vehicle registration and inspection paperwork, seizing electronics and ledgers. The case was later filed as falsifying information and forgery of registration. We got involved early, maintained contact with law enforcement, and compiled transaction records and context to explain the paperwork and the client's intent. After presenting that material to the prosecutor and challenging any inference of fraud, the state dismissed the case.

Discharge of a Firearm
Location
Travis County, County Court at Law #6
Allegations
Police were called after reports of shots from the top level of a parking structure. The individual had fired rounds into a concrete wall and no one was injured. Days later officers executed a warrant, made an arrest, and seized several firearms and other property. We reviewed bodycam and witness accounts, emphasized that the shots were confined to a backstop, and challenged the breadth of the seizure while pressing for property return. After sustained negotiations, the State agreed to a nonconviction outcome: deferred adjudication with compliance terms, protecting the client’s record.

Evading Arrest or Detention (Misdemeanor)
Location
Travis County, ccl9
Allegations
During a traffic stop outside a residence, officers called out to our client and he stepped back inside. Moments later he was arrested and charged with misdemeanor evading on foot based on that brief retreat. We focused negotiations on whether he had clear notice he was being detained or under arrest and whether his conduct showed intentional flight. We laid out the timeline from the incident and pressed the state on proof of the required elements. The prosecution dismissed the case.

Violation of Bond or Protective Order, Two or More Times Within 12 Months
Location
Travis County, 403rd District Court
Allegations
After a protective order was issued, the client was accused of violating it by sending a few messages and was charged with a continuous violation within a year. The client explained the messages were brief, nonthreatening, and limited to coordinating time with a child. We documented the context of those communications, showing no harassment and no attempts to meet, and sought to narrow the no contact terms to permit child related written coordination. We presented this record to the prosecutor and challenged whether the evidence supported a criminal violation. The State dismissed the case.

Interference with an Emergency Call
Location
Travis County, County Court at Law #4
Allegations
After a domestic dispute at a residence, officers alleged our client interfered with an emergency call. We moved quickly, filed our appearance, and obtained the 911 and non-emergency recordings, body-worn camera footage, and police reports. The complaining witness told authorities he did not wish to pursue the matter and later signed an affidavit of non-prosecution, which we provided to the prosecutor. The audio and video raised serious doubts that our client intentionally prevented a call for help. Confronted with these issues and our readiness to litigate, the state dismissed the charge.

Sexual Assault of a Minor
Location
Travis County, 450TH DISTRICT COURT
Allegations
After tension at home, a juvenile made a sexual assault allegation and a report was opened. The client retained us immediately. We took over communications with investigators, gathered the initial outcry and later interview records, and documented significant inconsistencies and motive issues. When a warrant was being prepared, we engaged the prosecutor, pressed the credibility problems, and proposed pausing action pending full child interview center materials. The warrant was recalled, the state reviewed the file, and the case was dismissed without an arrest.

Lewdness
Location
Travis County, County Court at Law #9
Allegations
The client was accused of lewdness after an alleged incident reported to police. Our team obtained the reports and any available recordings and dissected the accounts for inconsistencies. We presented these weaknesses to the prosecutor and made clear we were ready to litigate. The state dismissed the case.

Allegations
Parks officers reported a complaint that our client engaged in sexual conduct on a boat at a local lake. The client was not arrested at the scene and later learned a warrant would issue. We stepped in early, monitored for the warrant, and arranged a walk through to avoid a jail stay. We compiled the limited paperwork, noted there was no officer who personally observed the alleged act, and highlighted the client’s clean history and that the conduct stopped once privacy concerns arose. After discussions with the prosecutor, the case was rejected and dismissed.

Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon
Location
Travis County, CCL#7
Allegations
During a traffic stop, officers claimed a violation and detained the driver. While investigating, they discovered a personal handgun in the vehicle and filed a UCW charge. We obtained the reports and full discovery to map out how the firearm was located. We challenged the basis for the stop and the legality of the search, and prepared a suppression motion. After negotiations and a preview of our arguments, the prosecution dismissed the case.

Felony Motion to Revoke Probation
Location
Travis County, 167th District Court
Allegations
Decades after a felony assault case, our client received a letter warning of an active probation warrant. Living out of state, the client hired us to step in. We pulled the old court file, contacted probation, and addressed the alleged violations, including arranging payment of outstanding restitution through our office. We engaged the prosecutor about the age of the case and the gaps in the record and made clear we were prepared to litigate. After resolving the arrears and negotiating hard, the State dismissed the motion to revoke.

Aggravated Kidnapping (Deadly Weapon)
Location
Travis County, 331st District Court
Allegations
After a late night out, the client offered a ride to two people, dropped one off, and continued driving the other passenger. That passenger later alleged the client restrained them and referenced a gun. Our client denied any threat, and officers found no weapon. Police detained him and collected DNA swabs while we pushed for full discovery and a charging decision. We reviewed bodycam and reports, highlighted the absence of a weapon and thin proof of restraint, and presented strong mitigation. With lab results that did not corroborate the claim, the state dismissed the case.

Attempted Sexual Assault (Felony)
Location
Travis County, 331st District Court
Allegations
After a late-night encounter near an entertainment area, our client gave two strangers a ride; after dropping one off, an encounter in the car led to an allegation of attempted sexual assault. The arrest followed a high-risk stop, and detectives collected DNA swabs, but no weapon or physical evidence corroborating force was found. We obtained body-worn camera and interview recordings, compared them to the written report, and documented material inconsistencies in the complainant’s account, including whether they had met before and how the car doors were operated. When lab results proved inconclusive and key facts lacked support, we pressed the prosecution on proof problems. The state dismissed the case.
