Charge
Assault on a Peace Officer
Location
Fort Bend County, 502nd District Court
Allegations
Officers responded to a disturbance at a residence where the client had been drinking. After he opened the door, they moved to detain him and placed him in handcuffs inside the home. While being escorted outside, an officer fell and the client was accused of assaulting a peace officer. We got involved early, demanded the evidence, and documented that any contact occurred after he was cuffed and in the officers’ control. We pressed the state on whether they could prove intentional or knowing contact and causation of injury. Faced with those proof problems, the prosecution dismissed the case.

Aggravated Assault - Family Violence
Location
Harris County, 482nd DC
Allegations
A domestic dispute escalated after the complainant left and returned intoxicated, and our client discovered major property damage. Later, during an encounter in a parking area, a struggle inside a vehicle ended with the complainant injured. Police arrested our client based on a brief surveillance clip showing only the moment the client exited the vehicle. We compiled photos of the damage, 911 logs, messages, and records of prior incidents, and we charted inconsistencies in the complainant’s account. After we presented the self defense context and the gaps in proof, the prosecution dismissed the case.

Assault on a Peace Officer
Location
Harris County, 482nd DC
Allegations
Following a late-night traffic stop, officers attempted to detain our client, deployed a Taser, and later alleged the client struck a peace officer with an elbow. From the outset, the client maintained they never hit anyone and that any contact occurred while they were immobilized and trying to comply. We obtained body-worn camera from the stop and surveillance from the intake area, and compared them against the written reports. The footage and narratives did not align and raised serious questions about intent and use of force. We presented these issues to the prosecution and prepared to litigate them. The State dismissed the felony.

Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Location
Harris County, 487th Criminal District Court
Allegations
The client was charged after a domestic dispute and a delayed report by an ex-partner. The complainant claimed a gun was pointed at them and provided only a single screenshot, while the original video was never produced. Later statements shifted about how the gun was positioned, and messages between the parties showed continued affectionate contact after the alleged event. We compiled these inconsistencies and made clear we were ready for trial. Confronted with the credibility issues, the State dismissed the aggravated assault.

Continuous Violence Against the Family
Location
Harris County, 487th Criminal District Court
Allegations
After a breakup, the client was charged with continuous violence against the family based on several disputed incidents. In discovery we found credibility problems: the complainant’s story shifted, the only image was a still screenshot with no underlying video, and text messages after the alleged dates showed ongoing affection and contact. We organized these inconsistencies, pressed the State, and prepared for trial while offering a civil no contact solution to address concerns. The prosecution agreed to reduce the case to a misdemeanor with deferred probation.

Allegations
Police arrested our client after a domestic argument at a residence where a phone was knocked from a partner's hand and fell onto the partner's foot, which officers described as minor redness and pain. The partner later made clear they did not want the case pursued. We obtained a sworn affidavit of nonprosecution and scrutinized the short police report for corroboration. We highlighted the absence of intentional injury and the limited evidentiary support beyond the initial statement. The prosecution dismissed the case.

Sexual Assault
Location
Harris County, 183rd DC
Allegations
Police sought our client on a Texas warrant alleging sexual assault after a social event. We engaged immediately, monitored his transfer, addressed bond and travel restrictions, and pulled the full case file, including exam reports, interviews, and recordings. Our investigation uncovered major inconsistencies in the complainant’s accounts. We also preserved an audio recording from that night reflecting consensual contact. We presented these credibility problems to the prosecution during grand jury review, and the State dismissed the case.

Allegations
A verbal argument at a home escalated and police were called, resulting in our client’s arrest for family violence. We engaged early, obtained the initial police materials, and mapped out key issues. The report documented no visible injury and stated the arrest was to prevent further conflict rather than based on clear evidence of pain. We also made the State aware that the complaining witness did not wish to pursue the matter. During the intake phase we pressed the prosecutor on these evidentiary gaps. The DA rejected the charge before filing, and the case was dismissed.

Harris County, 180th DC
Allegations
Police alleged our client used a vehicle as a deadly weapon during a domestic dispute after a witness claimed the car struck the complainant. We reviewed EMS and hospital records showing she pushed off the vehicle, fell, and had minor injuries, and emphasized that she did not wish to prosecute. We also documented the witness’s intoxication that night and the client’s prompt engagement in mental health treatment. Faced with credibility problems and strong mitigation, the prosecution reduced the charge and resolved the case with deferred community supervision.

Allegations
Police responded to a domestic dispute at a home, and a family member alleged our client pulled hair and caused pain. The client said it was only a loud argument and left to cool off, and a relative who witnessed it confirmed there was no assault. We quickly cleared the warrant with a walkthrough, then obtained the body cam, 911 audio, and the offense report. Our review showed major contradictions in the complainant's accounts and that police never interviewed the named eyewitness. We secured a statement from that witness, presented the problems to the prosecutor, and the state dismissed the case.

Allegations
Police filed an assault family violence case after a late night altercation outside a nightlife venue. Our client saw two security staff pinning a friend to the ground, stepped in with a single push to separate them, then backed away. We collected cellphone videos and identified multiple witnesses, which showed no punches, no intent to harm, and inconsistent accounts in the report. We also secured exterior camera footage and flagged gaps in the officer’s body camera timeline. After presenting the evidence, the state dismissed the case.

Assault - Family Violence (Strangulation)
Location
Harris County, 486th Criminal District Court
Allegations
Following a domestic dispute, the client was accused of strangulation, with the complainant reporting the incident months later. We secured the discovery and compiled messages and voicemails showing the complainant repeatedly reaching out to the client well after the alleged event. We contrasted those communications with the police account and the claimed injury photos, revealing major credibility problems and a lack of corroboration. We presented these issues to the prosecutor and kept the pressure on until the case was dismissed.
